Shosh Segev
A multidisciplinary artist, Shosh Segev was born in 1953 in Ashkelon.
A member of Kibbutz Kfar-Aza., Segev is the owner of an Arts Studio and Gallery, where her work is exhibited.
She teaches and guides various workshops (painting, paper sculpting and ceramics).
Shosh Segev's artistic language points at her inspiration sources, such as
Jean Dubuffet, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Matisse.
The starting point for her paintings is her closer surroundings the Kibbutz, home, nature and family.
The first impression upon her work is one of colorful enjoyment, optimism and joyfulness, which are an integral part of the artist's world-view.
The treatment of color is achieved through a rich and sensible layering of various textures, and through exposure and revelation of warm color layers, such as red, orange, yellow, etc.
Segev acquired her artistic education at the Visual Arts College in Beer-Sheva. In addition, she attended continuing education programs at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and participated of workshops at the Tel-Aviv Museum.
The artist was granted a number of scholarships by the Education Ministry and she was also granted the Gershoni Foundation Scholarship.
Shosh Segev exhibited her work and participated in a solo exhibition and in joint exhibitions both in Israel and around the world.
